When you're arriving for the first time to Doha's Hamad International Airport, the expectations are naturally high. You are at the Qatar's capital, so you know that everything is supposed to surprise you. And a giant Teddy Bear is probably one of the best ways to do it.
The Urs Fischer sculpture, which weighs 20 tons bronze bear, bought by a member of Qatar’s royal family for over $6.8 million dollars, is indeed impressive.
The sculpture can generate some mixed feelings on you. On the one hand, it's a clear example of the of the almost offensive luxury that you can find in some rich Arab States. So you feel a little bit disturbed about it. On the other hand, a beautiful piece of art is always beautiful piece of art... So it worth's being appreciated.
