Shouldn't the Internet boost diversify? Not necessarily

Useful report on The Economist about mass entertainment in our days. The Internet brought the amazing possibility of producing, releasing and consuming contents worldwide. Every content producer is today able to see his products being watched, listened or read from every part of the globe. Alternative content and margin producers can find new audiences using global platforms to spread their products.

However, today’s scenario probably is not necessarily democratizing and diversifying contents. By the contrary, a mixture of market dynamics and algorithms is contributing to reinforce the dominance of ICT and content giants. The promises of diversity are again being swapped by standardization processes. ICT and content "winners” seem to reinforce their position every day.
