After watching yesterday's debate between the five favourite candidates to the French presidential elections, the question of citizen's trust in public institutions came again to my mind as a fundamental sign of democratic healthiness. The graphic above is a good example of what should really worry us.
In October-November 2016, when questioned if their countries were on the right track, around 62% of citizens from 25 nations were not positive about it. And who were the champions of this pessimistic feeling? Yep, right after the Mexicans, 88% of French citizens believe their country is on the wrong track.
